Cycling is the most efficient and enjoyable way to get around Montréal and to the University. In fact, a Concordian on a bicycle will burn three times less energy than their two-legged counterpart covering the same distance, not to mention automobiles! With more and more cycling lanes popping up around the city, cycling will be the quickest way of traveling, especially during rush hour! And, with an abundance of bike racks around SGW, you won't have a problem finding somewhere to park.
• PLAN YOUR ROUTE: There are lots of great bike paths and trails in Montreal. There is a bike lane leading directly to SGW along De Maisonneuve Boulevard.
• KNOW THE RULES: When sharing the road with motorists, always obey traffic laws and never ride on sidewalks or against traffic.
• BE SAFE: Make eye contact with other road users to establish yourself as a person, not just another object in traffic.
• MOTHER NATURE: Don't let rain and snow slow you down! It is possible to enjoy cycling all year round barring the occasional snow storm. Join us for a winter bike maintenance workshop (check for dates on our website) and always dress appropriately.
• FRESHEN UP!: Showers are available at both the EV and Loyola gym facilities. Access to the showers is free If you're an allégo Secure Bike Parking Facility member.
