What goes in the garbage

At present there are a variety of products that are used on campus that cannot be recycled. These products, listed below, should be reused or donated until they can no longer be used.

Examples of waste that is not yet recyclable on campus, are:

Coffee cups

Soiled and greasy cardboard/paper

Jewel CD and DVD plastic cases

Waxed paper

Waxed paper disposable cups (the kind used for fountain drinks)

Photo paper

Stickers

Nails, screws and pipes

Flat Glass (mirrors, windows etc.) and drinking glass

Toothpaste tube and pumps (you can recycle the plastic cap!)

All type no 6 plastic containers (Styrofoam, polystyrene) and disposable plastic cutlery

Cereal and cracker bags (waxed)

Rubber items (garden hoses, boots, etc)

Pyrex, porcelain, ceramics and earth ware

Potato chips bags and chocolate/candy wrapping

Objects made from many materials (toys, tools, etc)
